Vink Chemicals provides alternative preservative formulations for container preservation (BPR product type 6)
With parmetol®PSG, Vink Chemicals offers a green alternative to biocide formulations based on zinc pyrithione or other preservatives requiring labelling and safety warnings. parmetol®PSG is based on nature-identical substances approved for direct contact with food. It is suitable for the preservation of aqueous products with a pH value below 5.5.
parmetol®PSG meets all the legal and technical requirements for a modern preservative. The contents of parmetol®PSG are based exclusively on nature-identical active ingredients. It is free of formaldehyde, organic halogens and allergens and sensitising substances. parmetol®PSG does not contain any isothiazolinones such as CMIT, MIT or BIT. As a result, it meets the requirements of all conventional environmental labels such as ECOCERT, EU Ecolabel, Der Blaue Engel (The Blue Angel) and NORDIC SWAN ECOLABEL. Warnings are not required on the final product.
Highly effective with nature-identical ingredients
parmetol®PSG is a preparation of potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate and reliably extends a product’s life cycle. The active substances of parmetol®PSG come from the food industry. They have long been used as preservatives, for example in sauces or certain fruit preparations. The combination of Na-benzoate and K-sorbate is synergistic and results in reliable broad-spectrum protection against bacteria and moulds.
parmetol®PSG is supported by Vink Chemicals under the European Biocidal Products Regulation for product type PT6 “Preservatives for products during storage”. Vink Chemicals supplies parmetol®PSG for the European market in container sizes of 10, 200 and 1,000 kg.
